Danny Toney is a Partner and Financial Advisor for Signal Wealth Advisors, a financial advisory firm which serves individuals and families; including business owners, entrepreneurs, and executives throughout the United States. Danny co-founded Signal Wealth Advisors with Duane Toney in January 2017, while partnering with Carson Partners. He originally started in the financial advising profession and working with Duane in July 2011, while attending school at Brigham Young University. His professional responsibilities have included marketing, administration and operations, strategic business planning, client relations, client investment portfolio allocation, and client advanced financial planning. Danny graduated from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School with a degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship.
Danny is a Utah native. He was raised in Centerville, a northern suburb of Salt Lake City. He is the third of five children. Danny considers himself fortunate to have been born to loyal and loving parents, Duane and Laura Toney, who taught him how to work hard, be consistent, have integrity, and never stop improving.
As a child, Danny enjoyed athletics, including basketball, golf, competitive soccer and anything else that allowed him to run around. He will always be grateful for his soccer coach, Pete Tesch, for teaching him the beautiful game and how to have fun during the process. At age 8, Danny started studying the piano and at age 12, picked up the saxophone, so that his mom would let him quit the piano. His passion for music and the saxophone exploded when, at the age of 14, he had his first private saxophone lesson with local great, Brian Booth. Brian’s laid-back but technical mentoring was a perfect match for Danny.
Danny’s love of music continued as he had the opportunity to be mentored and instructed by Rod Wayman, an incredible high school band director, during his sophomore and junior years. Mr. Wayman taught Danny that you can always work harder and smarter than you think you can. Give everything you’ve got to every moment. Good is the enemy of best. During Danny’s senior year of high school he was named lead tenor saxophonist for the Utah All-State Jazz Band, one of two tenor saxophonists for the Utah All-State Concert Band, and Drum Major for Viewmont High School’s Marching Band. Danny wants to thank Dan Chaston, his senior year high school band director, for allowing him the many opportunities to lead and direct the band. The hands-on experience was a valuable teacher.
Following high school, Danny studied music for one year at the University of Utah, where he played in the university’s top jazz band, Jazz Band I, as a freshman. Danny enjoyed learning from and interacting with upperclassmen and graduate students who were excellent musicians. Danny also had the incredible opportunity to study privately with David Halliday. Dave taught Danny how to blend his technical musical abilities with emotion and soul and how to feel the music. He loved every single private lesson.
Danny met Stacie Graham the day before their senior year of high school, while cheering in the bleachers for the Lady Vikings Viewmont High soccer team. He repeated her name over and over again in his head to make sure he wouldn’t forget it. The next day, the first day of school, he was ecstatic to find out that they shared the same fourth period class together. Their friendship grew during their senior year of high school and freshman year of college.
In June 2009, Danny set aside everything in his life to serve a two-year, proselyting mission in Colorado for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spent his time in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, Colorado. Danny’s mission transformed him and began the process of a boy learning how to become a man. You can change dramatically when you spend all day, everyday, for two years, totally focused on helping other people. President Brian and Sister Sylda Pfile were his second parents and mentored him throughout those two years.
Upon returning home, Danny married his best friend, Stacie Graham, in August 2011. They have two beautiful and hilarious boys, Jaxon and Cal.
Currently, Danny is on a mission to help as many people as possible by uplifting their spirits, inspiring them to remember their greatest potential, and helping them improve the things in their lives that can be improved.
Danny is passionate about learning, deep learning; and sharing that knowledge and insight with other people. Danny is also passionate about his spiritual relationship with God, loving and helping each person in his family FLY, learning about and implementing a SUPER healthy diet, weight lifting, running, hiking, and enjoying secluded walks during warm weather (the Lagoon Trail in Farmington, UT is the best).
